On Air Now:

Welcome to the website of Radio Fremantle - Fremantle's Community radio station. Radio Fremantle is located in Hamilton Hill, approximately five kilometers from the City of Fremantle and eighteen kilometers from the City of Perth. The station broadcasts to twenty-suburbs encircling Hamilton Hill with a potential audience in excess of 308,000 residents. You can view the coverage map, Here.

The station commenced broadcasting in 1987 from studios located inside a now, heritage listed, former police station in East Fremantle. In 2000, as the station grew, a decision was made to purpose build a completely new station which is now in Hamilton Hill.

The building contains Administration office, one main studio, a smaller second studio, production room - which can be used as an on-air studio in emergencies. In addition, a staff room, toilets, engineering and  program logging rooms and the possibility to expand, if required, compliment the station. The station is disability friendly with the layout of the station allowing wheel-chair access and a purpose built elevator. Take a look inside the station Here.

The latest broadcasting equipment ensures the station provides high quality sound-output both on your radio and the internet.

The station's Administration office is open Monday to Friday from 09:00 - 15:30. If you would like to visit the station, please call Margaret on (08) 9494 2100 to arrange a suitable time. Please bear in mind that the station's Administration office is very busy throughout the day. It would therefore be beneficial if you request a visit well in advance.

As a community radio station, we are a non-profit organisation. If it happens that a profit is generated, it is used solely to improve equipment; running costs and to employ an Administration individual.

With this in mind, all the programs you hear on Radio Fremantle are researched, prepared and presented by a dedicated team of volunteers - some have been with the station since its inception.

Many of the announcers had no experience at all in front of a microphone before undertaking the Training Course. They then had to wait for a time-slot to become available. As they are so dedicated to Radio Fremantle, a vacancy is a very rare occurence.

Radio Fremantle acknowledges and thanks the great team of volunteers.
