The World Football programme has been on air since 1987 and has expanded and morphed from one to two hours of local, national and international football and then in 2010 the programme expanded to three hours.
The World Football Programme interviews guests from local leagues to national teams and international leagues. A sampling of our guests includes Olyroos Coach, Aurelio Vidmar, Matildas Coach and players Tom Sermanni, Lisa De Vanna, Fox Sport presenters Simon Hill, Ross Aloisi Paul Trimboli, local icons Stan Lazaridis, Gary Marocchi and Robbie Fowler.
Many media students have kick-started their careers with the programme including Rob Scott of the ABC and Ann Odong of thewomensgame.com.
We all coach, play or administrate in the sport and love talking about all aspects of football. The team have a well-earned break during Easter and Christmas through January, returning on-air in the first week of February.
As local, national and international league seasons and international tournament scheduling changes, scheduling of guests may change to suit their availability and tournament significance.
The programme is researched, produced and presented by Penny Tannerhoath and Jason Washington-King.
Like all other programmes broadcast on Radio Fremantle, we encourage businesses, large and small, to either sponsor the programme or make a donation.
